Oakham’s Georgina Harrison won a silver medal at the World Powerlifting Bench Press Championships in Warsaw, Poland.
The 22-year-old earned her place in the Great Britain squad after winning the British Bench Press Championships in March.
At the worlds, Harrison produced an outstanding bench press of 100kg while weighing just 56.59kg, earning her second place.
The result marks a huge milestone in Harrison’s powerlifting career and highlights the growing success of strength sports within the local community.
She trains at Limitless Gym in Oakham, a facility that only opened its doors in January 2026 but has already established itself as a powerhouse for competitive athletes.
In less than six months, the gym has produced two British champions, three European Championship qualifiers, and now a World Championship silver medalist.
The rapid success of Limitless Gym has been attributed to its training environment, boasting some of the most advanced strength and conditioning equipment in the region.
