Fancy Huey signed with with Coffeyville Community College on May 13.
The Coffeyville, Kansas, community college is a strong competitor in powerlifting having multiple achievements in the sport. These include winning the team championship at Texas Tech’s Red Raider Rumble in March 2026, beating Texas Tech and Abilene Christian in team points. The college’s 14 lifters won seven gold medals and five silver medals, and set 21 personal records. The team also won the Open Division Team Championship at the 100% Raw World Championships in Richmond, Virginia, in November 2025.
Huey competed at the March 2026 state powerlifting meet in Edinburg, where she squatted 380 pounds, benched 215 and deadlifted 410 for a total of 1,005 pounds. She finished fifth and earned a state medal.
The average French door refrigerator weighs 317 pounds.
Plainview powerlifting coach Allison Conley said Huey is not just a great lifter, but also a great teammate.
“She’s shown success, that it isn’t just about winning. Consistency, attitude and effort when no one is watching,” she said. “That’s why it comes to no surprise that she’s gonna continue her career at the collegiate level.”
Huey said she started out playing basketball her freshman year before being introduced to powerlifting, falling in love with it sophomore year.
Huey said she is excited to continue her athletic career in powerlifting and branch out into new experiences.
“Going out to Kansas is going to be a big step for me because I’m going to be far away from home, but I know the coaches out there, they have a good heart,” Huey said.
Huey said she plans to major in sports science.
