
Afghan bodybuilder Ali Bilal secured another major international title after winning the New York Pro men’s physique competition in the United States.
Bilal defeated Brazilian athlete Edvan Palmeira in a closely contested final on Friday night, while Indonesia’s Isa Kasic finished third.
Ali Bilal champion delivered a strong performance on stage, earning praise for his physique, muscle definition and presentation.
Bilal has become one of Afghanistan’s most successful international athletes in bodybuilding, following victories at the Arnold Classic 2024 and back-to-back runner-up finishes at Mr. Olympia in 2024 and 2025.
Afghanistan athletes have continued to achieve international success despite ongoing economic hardship and limited sports infrastructure inside the country.
Many sports figures from Afghanisan train and compete abroad, where they have increasingly gained recognition in cricket, martial arts and bodybuilding competitions.
