VISAKHAPATNAM: The 44th All India Major Ports Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Championships 2025-26 was inaugurated on Thursday at the Sagaramala Convention Centre in Visakhapatnam.
Roshni Aparanji Korati, deputy chairperson of Visakhapatnam Port Authority, formally inaugurated the championship in the presence of heads of departments.
Teams from six major ports — Chennai Port Authority, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, Mumbai Port Authority, Deendayal Port Authority, Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority and host Visakhapatnam Port Authority — are participating in the championship.
The inaugural ceremony featured a march past by the teams, unveiling of the MPSCB flag, oath-taking by team captains and the formal declaration of the championship open.
