Big Ramy has been teasing potential comebacks for years now but nothing has come to fruition. He did not make any concrete statements in the past but seemingly did that during a recent conversation.

“I love to support my sport. It’s what I love in this life. I believe this is the life, and somebody comes after that, and somebody comes after that on the stage.”

Ramy continued on to explain that other champions in the industry have made peace with retirement.

“Others in the industry, like Ronnie Coleman, the one and only, he’s not doing that again. This is the life. We have to accept that.”

Biography of Big Ramy

Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay is originally from Alexandria, Egypt. He is an IFBB professional bodybuilder that had experienced a rather rapid rise to fame when he earned his pro card in just under three years of training, which is something that usually takes years to even come close to for most competitors.

Mamdouh was a trained fisherman that grew up in a poor area of Egypt. He spent multiple years working in Kuwaiti waters for a living. Along the way, Big Ramy decided to attend the ‘Oxygen Gym’ in Kuwait, a very popular bodybuilding gym in that part of the world. The decision was actually on a whim, but he fell in love with bodybuilding immediately. It definitely was a big help that his genetics were also perfect for the sport. So once he started adding muscle mass, Big Ramy’s true potential began to show.

As he started to attend the gym more often and work on truly dieting down, getting serious, and improving his physique, his friends encouraged him to compete in bodybuilding competitions. He finally accepted their challenge and competed for the first time in the 2012 Amateur Olympia in Kuwait City and won. This title gave him his Pro Card, and since then, he has been unstoppable.
