Nellore: Athletes from Prakasam district delivered an impressive performance at the 13th AP Classic Powerlifting Championship 2026, held from April 3 to 5 at GMRIT University in Rajam, Vizianagaram district.
According to officials, the district contingent secured multiple medals across categories. M. Aishwarya won bronze in the 57 kg category, while B. Karthika clinched silver in the 52 kg category. In the Masters-1 category, M. Sunitha secured bronze in the 69 kg division.
Among men, G. Shakthidhar Srichandra bagged gold in the 120 kg category, and M. Rakesh won gold in the +120 kg category. B. Deepak earned bronze in the 59 kg division. In the Masters-1 segment, B.V.L. Kumar secured bronze in the 83 kg category, while Shaik Mastan Vali won silver in the 93 kg category.
District collector A. Raja Babu and other officials congratulated the athletes for their achievements, the statement added.
