James believes there is a path for Vissers to take down the reigning Olympia champ.
Wesley Vissers has inserted himself back in the mix in Classic Physique here in 2026. He made his return to the stage and won the 2026 Arnold Classic in early March. This put him back at the top of the division with the other elites, including reigning Olympia champ Ramon Dino.
Can Vissers take down Ramon Queiroz this year? Dennis James believes that there is an avenue to do so but he has to come in at his very best.
“I can see that happening. I can see Wesley being a threat now to beat Ramon, possibly.”
The Classic Physique division has seen plenty of action since the Olympia. Ramon Dino was able to win his first title by defeating Mike Sommerfeld, who finished as the Chris Bumstead during the 2024 Olympia. Queiroz is now preparing for the 2026 Olympia while others battled during the Arnold competitions over the last month.
Sommerfeld missed weight in Columbus and was unable to compete. Vissers won his second Arnold title in Sommerfeld’s absence. The two got a chance to go head-to-head weeks later at the Arnold UK with Sommerfeld holding a slight advantage to win gold. The stage has been set in the division for the remainder of the year until the biggest competition of the year.

Dennis James Needs To See Conditioning From Wesley Vissers
Dennis James joined Prime Time Muscle Podcast for a discussion around the current happenings in bodybuilding. The Classic Physique division was brought up and James discussed how Vissers could rise to the top and win his first Olympia title.
“He needs to be super conditioned. There’s no other way. If Wesley is not 100%, 99% is not enough. He needs to be 100% in order to stand next to the best guys and possibly beat them.”
Vissers is one of the tallest competitors in the field and this holds a certain advantage. James believes that, despite his waist not being the smallest, he has all the body parts needed to win if the condition is right.
“If you are tall and have a filled out frame, he’s super wide. He has all the body parts. His waist might not be the smallest one in the Classic category, but when you look at the way he displays his physique, that’s as Classic as you can get. I think Wesley has a shot.”
Vissers has success against Ramon in the past, but a lot has changed in two years. Vissers pulled off an upset, defeating Queiroz at the 2024 Arnold Classic, which was considered a major upset at the time, but fell down the scorecard at the Olympia. He returned to Columbus to defend his Arnold title but ended up placing fifth. This will be one of many intriguing matchups to watch in the division this year.
