Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Son Wins First Bodybuilding Competition

Like father, like son.

Joseph Baena, the son of global megastar Arnold Schwarzenegger, recently won his first bodybuilding competition. Baena, 28, shared the update to his

“Mission accomplished,” he wrote in the caption, before citing the categories he secured wins in.

Those wins came in:

  • Men’s Open Bodybuilding Heavy Weight Class
  • Men’s classic Physique True Novice
  • Men’s Classic Physique Novice

Baena also had a second-place finish in the Men’s Classic Physique Open Class C category.

The picture on the Instagram post shows Baena, who is the spitting image of his dad, striking a pose on stage.

Baena’s victories also came with some amazing father-son moments. Just a week before his victory, he shared an image of himself working out with his dad. The image shows Arnold staring intently at Baena while he lifts weights. The caption read, “You have to shock the muscles!”

To be fair, you couldn’t ask for a better personal trainer when it comes to getting ready for a bodybuilding compeition. After all, Arnold won seven Mr. Olympia titles and five Mr. Universe titles during in his prime. Even now, Arnold is in fantastic shape for his age.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Could Return to the Big Screen

Arnold, 78, could reprise three of his most memorable roles in the near future. The Last Action Hero star recently revealed that he’s been approached about being part of the next Predator movie. His revelation came at a recent Arnold Sports Festival appearance in Columbus, Ohio.

“They did a remake of Predator — not a remake but an additional Predator, and that latest director, he’s been doing a great job with that. And so now he wants me to be in the next Predator,” Arnold said. “So we were talking about it.”

Arnold then continued by naming the other two franchises he could make a return to.

“Fox Studio has kind of rediscovered Arnold. They come to me and they say, ‘We want you to do Predator, we just got the script for you to do Commando 2,’ and they just hired a writer-director who did Tom Cruise’s last four movies, a fantastic writer-director — they hired him to write and direct King Conan.”

So, it seems like we’re going to be getting a lot more of Arnold in the coming years. If Baena continues to follow in his footsteps, those franchise’s could also have a ready-made replacement waiting to step in when the time is right.
