Arnold and Ronnie: Legends Together Again

The bodybuilding world often argues about who is the absolute G.O.A.T. (best of all time). But the truth is that these two giants have never come face to face on the competition boards. When “Austrian Dub” won his last Sandow statue in 1980, Ronnie Coleman’s professional stellar career was still the music of the distant future – in fact, he didn’t start his incredible winning streak until the late 1990s.

While Arnold is still a symbol of the so-called golden era, which prided itself on aesthetics, vacuum poses and symmetry, the Texas-born Coleman pushed human anatomy and understanding of physics into the realms of enormous muscle bulk and brute strength.

Arnold a Arnold

The toll of perfection and indomitable optimism

Today, the view of both legends is different from that of their greatest glory days, but they inspire all the more respect. Sixty-one-year-old Coleman paid a cruel toll for his extreme, heavy-duty training in the form of multiple spinal surgeries. Today, he’s primarily in a wheelchair, but his legendary catchphrase “Yeah buddy!” and incredibly positive attitude toward life remain.

Schwarzenegger, 17 years his senior, welcomed him to his own competition with tremendous warmth and open arms. Their debate together exuded genuine friendship and respect for each other. Unsurprisingly, footage of the two icons immediately prompted an avalanche of touching comments from fans around the world, for whom these two represent the main reason they ever picked up a barbell in the first place.

Terminator is heading to the heart of Europe

Although both have long since traded in their posing suits for civilian life, they are definitely not old hat. Ronnie Coleman continues to tirelessly motivate millions of exercisers through his social media channels. And Arnold? He’s still unstoppable. Movie buffs are currently eagerly awaiting his return to the silver screen as the iconic Barbara Conan.

But the best is yet to come for Czech fans. The famous Terminator will soon make a trip to the Czech Republic! On 18 June, he will personally attend an exclusive event at the Žofín Palace in Prague. This will be a unique opportunity for domestic fitness and film lovers to see live the man who has managed to combine the world of extreme muscles and Hollywood like no other.

This year’s joint photo of Arnold and Ronnie is more than just a snapshot. It’s a reminder that while trends, methods and standards in the sport are constantly changing, hard work, determination and the legacy you leave behind are truly immortal.
