The son of Hollywood actor and former bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger is following in his famous father’s footsteps.
Joseph Baena, the 28-year-old son Schwarzenegger had with his former housekeeper, won his first bodybuilding competition on the weekend.
The former Mr Universe’s son shared pictures from the tournament, where he took home a number of first-place titles at the NPC Natural Colorado State Competition in Denver, US.

Baena has undergone a significant transformation since his youth, having previously spoken on social media about struggling with his weight in high school.
Proudly posting on Instagram, Baena captioned the images: “Mission Accomplished!”
His win comes several days after he shared photos of himself training alongside his former bodybuilding champion father.
On Wednesday, Baena posted a carousel of shots on Instagram showing 78-year-old Schwarzenegger giving him pointers as he lifted heavy arm weights.
“You have to shock the muscles!” Baena captioned the slideshow.
Baena took home first place in the Men’s Open Body Heavyweight Class, Men’s Classic Physique True Novice and Men’s Classic Physique Novice, and also came second in Men’s Classic Physique Open Class C.
In the winning photos, showing off his chiselled, bronzed physique, Baena bore a striking resemblance to his father during his bodybuilding days.
Before Schwarzenegger hit Hollywood with action blockbusters like The Terminator, and prior to his eight-year stint as California’s governor, he dominated several major bodybuilding competitions.
The Austrian-born actor won the Mr Olympia title seven times and Mr Universe five times before retiring from competition in 1980.
While married to writer Maria Shriver, Schwarzenegger had an extramarital affair with his longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena.
Joseph Baena found out Schwarzenegger was his biological father around the age of 13, shortly before the news became public in 2011.
He learned this information from his mother, after suspicions arose due to his growing resemblance to the actor.
Schwarzenegger has four other children with his ex-wife, Maria Shriver, including Katherine Schwarzenegger, who is married to actor Chris Pratt, and White Lotus star Patrick Schwarzenegger.
