Ty Akin of New Diana earned 11th place at state in the Unequipped 242 weight class, his totals were 525 squat, 275 bench and 475 on deadlift for a total of 1275 lbs. Devon Spencer of Brownsboro earned 9th place in the same class. His totals were 475 squat, 250 bench and 585 on deadlift for a total of 1310 lbs. There was a total of 1,110 competitors at Abilene, 148 total in the Unequipped Division. The Unequipped division is new this year and schools weren’t separated according to size and instead all athletes from 1A-6A were in the same division.
