Victoria West girls powerlifting takes third at state meet | Sports

VICTORIA, Texas – The Victoria West girls powerlifting team delivered an impressive performance on the state stage, finishing third overall in the 5A Division II competition at Bert Ogden Arena.

The Lady Warriors showcased their strength throughout the meet, powered by several standout individual performances.

Delainey Coleman led the way for Victoria West, capturing first place in her weight class with a total of 1,175 pounds. Her performance included a massive 500-pound squat, along with a 300-pound bench press and a 375-pound deadlift.

Kiana Price also turned in a strong showing, earning second place in her division with a total of 895 pounds, highlighted by a 360-pound squat.

Deja Garza added another runner-up finish for the Warriors, surpassing the 1,000-pound mark with a total that included a top squat of 425 pounds.

Victoria West also received key contributions from Isabella Leal and Amerikis Orta, who both placed fourth in their respective weight classes.

With multiple podium finishes and strong depth across the lineup, the Lady Warriors capped off a standout showing at the state meet.
