EDINBURG, Texas (KLTV) – Mount Pleasant’s Helen Munoz and Marshall’s Demya Henderson brought home fifth-place medals at the Class 5A Division II state powerlifting meet at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas, on Saturday.
Munoz finished fifth in the 198-pound division. She squatted 335 pounds, bench pressed 265 pounds and deadlifted 300 pounds for a total of 900 pounds.
Henderson finished fifth in the 242-pound division. She squatted 395 pounds, bench pressed 205 pounds and deadlifted 320 pounds for a total of 920 pounds.
In the 97-pound division, Hallsville’s Harper Langley finished ninth with a total of 515 pounds. Marshall’s Damyria Williams finished 11th with a total of 475 pounds.
In the 114-pound division, Hallsville’s Emersyn Huffman finished seventh with a total of 645 pounds. Mount Pleasant’s Cambria Malone finished 12th with a total of 550 pounds. Mount Pleasant’s Diana Ramirez finished 13th with a total of 545 pounds.
In the 123-pound division, Hallsville’s Aireanna Brisset finished ninth with a total of 685 pounds.
In the 132-pound division, Mount Pleasant’s Linnet Cueller finished ninth with a total of 770 pounds. Mount Pleasant’s Monse Gonzalez finished 13th with a total of 740 pounds.
In the 148-pound division, Jacksonville’s Shayla Ramirez finished 13th with a total of 780 pounds.
In the 165-pound division, Hallsville’s Jizelle Jones finished 11th with a total of 795 pounds.
In the 198-pound division, Marshall’s Autumn Helton finished seventh with a total of 845 pounds.
