Vissers in top form heading to Olympia

Wesley Vissers had a clear mission for this year – to atone for the disappointment of last season. And so far, he’s doing just that. At the 2026 Arnold Classic, he presented the form of his life with vastly improved quadriceps and hamstrings, which deservedly earned him a gold medal and a spectacular return to the throne. He then immediately confirmed his winning ways at the Detroit Pro 2026, where he dominated and won the title of “King of Detroit”.

Now he faces another big test. His tour this year continues at the Arnold Classic UK, which takes place March 27-29 in Birmingham, UK.

One hundred percent health and a hunger to improve

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, Vissers confirmed that the busy competition schedule hasn’t affected him in any way. On the contrary, he feels he is in the best starting position of his career.

“I feel great and very healthy. Everything is going according to plan. I have no injuries, no joint pain, just nothing. I’m in a perfect position to keep making progress,” he praised.

The key to further success, he said, will be a detailed analysis of this year’s victories. He wants to focus on further improving his proportions, overall muscle sharpness and gaining mass in strategic places.

“We’ve shown that if we take some time to rest, we can perfect exactly those details before the Olympia,” Vissers said.

Showdown in Britain and a message for Ramon

It’s not going to be a walk in the park at the British Arnold Classic. He will face the Olympia runner-up Mike Sommerfeld, who had to withdraw from the American Arnold at the last minute due to not meeting the weight limit for the Classic Physique. The winner of this European contest will clearly consolidate his position as the number one challenger for the upcoming Mr. Olympia.

Although Vissers is now fully focused on Birmingham, he already has his sights set on September’s Olympia in Las Vegas. Considering that he has already taken on Ramon Queiroz once (at the Arnold Classic 2024), he is brimming with confidence ahead of this year’s absolute highlight of the season.

“I know exactly what I had over Ramon then. Of course, he has improved since then. But I dare say that the difference between the Ramon I beat then and the one I beat now is much smaller than my own progress I have made since then,” Visserssaid with icy calm.

It will be extremely interesting to see if Vissers will confirm his absolute dominance in the UK this year, and if his fantastic phase will be enough to dominate Mr. Olympia 2026 in September. One thing is for sure though – Classic Physique fans have a lot to look forward to!
