Dexter Jackson honored at the Arnold Classic

Bodybuilding celebrates one of its greatest greats. This year’s Arnold Classic 2026 in Ohio provided a special moment when the sport’s icon, Dexter “The Blade” Jackson, received the prestigious Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award.

It was a moment that bodybuilding fans had been waiting for. When Arnold Schwarzenegger himself invited Dexter Jackson on stage to present him with this prestigious award, the hall was abuzz. The standing ovation confirmed one thing – the respect this legendary competitor has built up over his incredible career is absolutely unmatched.

Dexter Jackson

Achievements that speak for themselves

Why Dexter? The answer lies in his breathtaking stats and abilities. In his 20+ year career, he has accomplished what most mortals can’t do in a few lifetimes:

  • Absolute record holder of the Arnold Classic: He has dominated this competition five times (2005, 2006, 2008, 2013 and 2015).
  • In one of the biggest surprises in history, he managed to defeat reigning champion Jay Cutler.
  • Most pro titles in history: With 29 IFBB Pro League championships, he holds an all-time record that just can’t be beaten.

The longevity phenomenon and the nickname “The Blade”

Dexter Jackson was never the most powerful man on stage, but he literally destroyed his competition with his incredible preparedness. His nickname “The Blade” referred to his iconic sharpness, muscle separation and detail.

While other stars shined and quickly faded, Dexter maintained his elite level for an incredible 21 years. He raced (and won) in the era of Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Phil Heath and Brandon Curry. As Arnold Schwarzenegger aptly noted when presenting the award:

“Dexter is a prime example of what perfect consistency, discipline and taking care of your own body can do.”

A well-deserved capstone to a tremendous legacy

During his emotional speech, Dexter thanked his family, sponsors and loyal fans who have stood by him throughout his journey.

Although he has hung up his competition swimsuit, his name will forever be etched in bodybuilding history. So winning the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2026 Arnold Classic is not only a reward for his medal collection, but more importantly for the inspiration he has provided to millions of athletes around the world.
