March 11

As of March 10, about 40 Armenian citizens remain in the United Arab Emirates, including 14 students, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry reported. On March 10, the Armenian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Armenian Consulate General in Dubai organized and carried out a free transfer of seven Armenian citizens to Oman. “Today as well, an Armenian diplomat from the embassy in Oman met Armenian citizens at the UAE–Oman border, facilitating border crossing procedures and transportation to Muscat Airport. The Muscat–Yerevan flight is scheduled for late evening. In total, between March 4 and March 10, 253 Armenian citizens used five free transport services organized by the Armenian Embassy in the UAE and the Consulate General in Dubai to Muscat,” the statement said. During this period, Armenian citizens with health issues in the UAE also sought assistance from the Armenian Embassy, which maintained constant contact with them to address urgent matters. Three citizens with health problems and their family members returned to Armenia free of charge on a Muscat–Yerevan flight with the support of the embassy. On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes against Iran. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed as a result of the strikes. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory attacks against Israel and several Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases.
