With 24 teams competing, the Bonham boys placed 2nd at the Region 3 Division 2 Regional Powerlifting Meet this past weekend in Arp, Texas.
Lindale took first place with 33 points, edging out Bonham with 30 points.
Sulphur Springs finished a distant third with 19 points.
Nine of the 13 Bonham powerlifters medaled.
Charlie Thompson and Zeke Romero brought home first place medals.
Brian Brakefield placed second, Jacoby Ballard finished in third place, with Aaron Tavera, Bryan Manzanares and Jaelynn Richards coming in fourth.
Brooklyn Collier and Javier Bustamante placed fifth, Riley Gayton came in sixth, Leeland Beavers placed eighth, Bryce Bird took ninth place and Jamal Jiminez scratched on squats.
Charlie Thompson, Zeke Romero and Brian Brakefield qualified for the Boys State Powerlifting Meet In Abilene.
The State Meet will be held 8:00 a.m. March 27at the Taylor County Expo Center.
