Nick Walker returned to the Arnold Classic 2026 stage in style. Although he finished second to Andrew Jacked, he is not hiding his excitement about his form. How did he react to the result and what was his message to his conqueror?
Although some members of the bodybuilding community wrote him off before the contest, “Mutant” wiped the slate clean at the Arnold Classic 2026. He didn’t let the ambient noise distract him and brought a much improved physique compared to his last appearance at Mr. Olympia. He particularly impressed with his famous double biceps pose from behind. He also showed incredible progress on his legs – specifically the back of his thighs were among the best in the entire competition, which is all the more admirable given that he had just badly torn his hamstring before the 2023 Olympia.
In the final comparisons, Walker waged a breathtaking battle with Andrew Jacked and Hadi Choopan. In the end, he missed out on a second Arnold Classic title by just five points. Still, he left Columbus, Ohio, with his head held high, taking the silver medal in stride.
A lifetime of form as a major victory
In his post-race comments, Nick stressed that second place was not what he came for, but he is extremely happy with the form he showed.
“I didn’t get the result I wanted, but I got a lot more. I finally brought a form to the podium that I can honestly say I am extremely proud of and happy with. That’s a win in itself for me,” Nickwrote on his social media and thanked all the fans for their unwavering support throughout the pre-contest week.
Fierce rivalry and huge respect
Bodybuilding is an individual sport, but at the highest levels, true sports brotherhood is often on display. Walker spared no praise for the winner after the race, congratulating him on the biggest triumph of his career. He described Andrew Jacked as “one of the best guys in the business” and added that he was immensely proud of the distance he had travelled in the Open category.
The response from the fresh champion didn’t take long to come. Andrew Jacked thanked his rival for motivating him:
“Always a pleasure to share the podium with you, bro. You told me to give it my all, and I worked hard for it. Only true brothers can push themselves in such a positive way. Respect. I look forward to our next dance on stage together.”
What’s next for Nick Walker?
Since Nick Walker didn’t secure a direct promotion by winning, his main task now will be to qualify for the prestigious Mr. Olympia 2026, which will take place September 24-27 in Las Vegas. At the time of writing, it is not yet clear whether he will attempt an immediate rematch with Andrew Jacked at the upcoming Arnold Classic UK.
But one thing is certain – Nick has regained his confidence and lost momentum with his latest performance. If he can maintain this setup, we have a lot to look forward to this year!
