Sam Sulek was rising to stardom long before he ever set foot on a bodybuilding competition stage. But everything changed in 2025 when he sovereignly won absolute gold in his amateur debut at the NPC Legends Classic. From that competition, he earned an invitation to the Arnold Amateur in Ohio, where he was able to come up with better tightening and fuller legs, earning him a pro card. Now his eyes are set on a dominant professional debut.
One last chest pump before the big day
In a video released on March 3, Sam showed off the very last workout he completed before the upcoming Arnold Classic. It was a chest workout focused on details and maximal pumping. Sulek included the following exercises in his plan:
- Cable Flyes.
- Decline Chest Press Machine (Decline Chest Press Machine)
- Pec Deck Flyes.
“It’s like the morning before a rehearsal,” says a composed Sulek
During the training session, Sam also talked about how he feels mentally now that all the preparation is practically over.
“The races are on Friday, registration is on Thursday. It’s time. It’s over. Every ounce of fat I could burn, every cardio I could do to take the weight off and get into podium shape… there’s just nothing else. It’s over, man,” he described his feelings, adding that there’s no point in messing around at the last minute.
“It’s like the morning before an important test. You’ve studied everything you can. There’s no more last-minute scrambling.” Sulek stressed that there’s simply nothing more that can be done, and he seems completely resigned to what’s to come. He sees nothing wrong with that and certainly isn’t letting the pre-race stress bind him.
Elite competition at the Arnold Classic 2026
There’s going to be quite a challenge for Sam in Ohio. The Classic Physique division is packed with big names. The biggest favourite to win is reigning champion Mike Sommerfeld, who also has two runner-up finishes from Mr. Olympia (2024 and 2025). But there is also expected to be a lot of pressure from names like Wesley Vissers, Andrea Mammoli and Matheus Menegate. The stakes are really high – the winner will get direct qualification for the 2026 Mr. Olympia competition.
From the latest photos and updates, one thing is clear: Sam Sulek is ready to fight and looks more chiseled than ever. We’ll find out this weekend in Columbus if that’s enough to be the absolute top.
