MOSS BLUFF, La. (KPLC) – Partners on and off the stage, professional bodybuilder Dylan Cassel and his girlfriend Sami Mosley are using their shared passion for competition to help train the next generation of athletes in the sport.
The couple has been competing in professional body builder competitions over the last few years.
“We keep each other very accountable. I want to keep impressing him with everything that I do so I want to make him proud of it. No matter, he’d be proud of me regardless but it’s just another contributing factor,” said Mosley.
“I’m trying to impress her everyday,” said Cassel.
The two compete in body building posing competitions nationally by each other’s side.
“Three for me. I just started two years ago,” said Mosley.
“I’ve been competing since 2022. I’ve done six shows,” said Cassel.
Now the couple is paying it forward by helping the next wave of aspiring body builders.
“So as many as we can get to. I think that this is our second one of the year,” said Mosley.
“We go to as many events as we can. There is no set number as to how many we’ve done. I don’t know how many we’ve done together but it’s fun when we can make it and we love to be a part of it,” said Cassel.
The couple says posing is much more than just a strong physique. It takes knowing how to properly show off your muscles.
“You want to get the feedback. You don’t want to just get hype, that’s not going to help you win. That’s not going to help you move forward. You want the critiques,” said Mosley.
“You want to be coachable and like really accepting the feedback. Because it’s going to be constructive. It’s going to help you. It’s not going to hurt you. We are all trying to win together,” said Cassel.
At least 100 men and women amateur body builders attended the workshop, with hopes of one day becoming professionals themselves.
