Kingston captures Chandler powerlifting titles


Kingston powerlifting teams swept to impressive championship performances at the Chandler Invitational last week.

TheLadyRedskinsoutdistanced second place Prague by a 164-129 margin to take the girls crown while the Redskins posted a decisive 138-106 margin over runnerup Jones on the boys side as well.

Kingston’s girls dominated the132-and155-pound weight classes while winning each individual title.

At 132, Coby Davis took honorswith710totalpounds, clearing 270 on squat, 125 in bench and 315 on deadlift as teammate Rae-Ann Best finished fifth with 550 total pounds (225 squat, 100 bench, 225 deadlift).

Carli Lilley was the 155 champion in solid fashion, tallying 755 pounds for her three-lift combination (295 squat, 145 bench, 315 deadlift). Ella Weaver checked in seventh with 525 (215 squat, 110 bench, 200 deadlift) with Bella Cavitt taking ninth at 520 (185 squat, 85 bench, 250 deadlift).

Bailey Reagan was a weight division runner-up at 123 pounds with a combination lift of 600 pounds (215 squat, 100 bench, 285 deadlift) and Cari’ona Brown took second as well in the 168 division by notching 650 total pounds (250 squat, 110 bench, 290 deadlift).

Adding to the Lady Redskin effort was a pair of 113-pound lifters with Daisy Avery placing third with 475 pounds (175 squat, 105 bench, 195 deadlift) as Ava Reno was fourth at 460 pounds (190 squat, 85 bench, 185 deadlift). Hazel Morton checked in sixth at 143 pounds by totaling 500 (195 squat, 95 bench, 210 deadlift) while Cassie McAlliester ended in 7th with a 495 combination (155 squat, 115 bench, 225 deadlift).

A pair of Redskins scored individual titles for the boys as well led by Jaksyn Martin at 123 pounds as he compiled 960 total pounds with 350 in squat, 225 on bench, 385 in deadlift. Blane Henry was also the 275-pound titlist withawhopping1,375pound combination that included 535 on squat, 315 in bench and 525 on deadlift.

Reid Patterson had a strong outing at 181 pounds, claiming third with 1,135 total pounds (415 squat, 270 bench, 450 deadlift) along with Jaime Lewis taking ninth at 1,015 pounds (385 squat, 255 bench, 375 deadlift).

They had a quartet of fifth place finishers topped by Kruz Harjo at 145 with 845 total pounds (305 squat, 215 bench, 325 deadlift), Vinny Robbins at 157 with a 970 total (350 squat, 225 bench, 395 deadlift), Ty Jones in the 198 division at 1,100 pounds (365 squat, 280 bench, 455 deadlift) along with Landon Burgess totaling 1,185 pounds (480 squat, 255 bench, 450 deadlift) at heavyweight. James Trout also placed sixth in the 198 category with 1,100 pounds (410 squat, 275 bench, 415 deadlift).

Kyler Edwards chipped in a sixth in the 132 division with 705 pounds (225 squat, 165 bench, 315 deadlift), Kelly Gray was seventh at 168 with a 1,005 combination (360 squat, 235 bench, 410 deadlift) while Jayden Yates tossed in a 10th place effort of 945 pounds (370 squat, 200 bench, 375 deadlift) in the 220 division.
