Dehradun, 18 Feb: International woman bodybuilder Pratibha Thapliyal from Uttarakhand paid a courtesy visit today on Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and MLA from Kotdwar.
On this occasion, Khanduri Bhushan honoured her with a shawl, a memento, and gifts in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of bodybuilding.
Thapliyal won a gold medal at the National Bodybuilding Championship held in 2023 and secured a bronze medal at the Asian competition. Additionally, on 9 February 2026, she once again brought pride to the state and the nation by winning a gold medal at the National Women’s Bodybuilding Competition held in Karimnagar, Telangana.
Speaking on the occasion, Ritu Khanduri Bhushan said that Thapliyal’s achievements are a strong example of women’s empowerment. She congratulated her for bringing laurels to Uttarakhand at national and international levels and expressed hope that her success would inspire more girls in the state to pursue sports and fitness.
By winning medals at the Asian and world levels, Thapliyal has showcased the strength and talent of Uttarakhand’s daughters on the global stage.
Bhupesh Thapliyal and senior BJP leader Ravindra Jugran were also present on the occasion.
