Jay Cutler Shares His 1993 Bodybuilder Breakfast of Champions That He Still Follows Today – Fitness Volt


Jay Cutler spent equal time in the kitchen and gym to reach the top of the sport. On Feb. 18, 2026, he took to Instagram to show off his 1993 ‘Breakfast of Champions.’ 

In the early 90s, Cutler was just getting started in bodybuilding. He linked up with coach Chris Aceto at 18 years old, who saw his potential early on. After making his mark in the IFBB Pro League, Cutler challenged Ronnie Coleman for the Mr. Olympia title. 

Five runner-up finishes later, and Cutler finally dethroned Coleman in 2006. Before retirement, he earned four Mr. Olympia titles and three consecutive Arnold Classic championships. He remains one of the most popular bodybuilders in the world. At 52 years old, Cutler wants to help the next wave of talent coming up.

Cutler’s breakfast covers all the bases; multi-grain pancakes provide steady energy with complex carbs, fiber-rich blueberries, and high protein from the buffalo patty and egg whites. 

“This is the bodybuilding breakfast at the Firehouse Cafe,” he shared. “I ate this back in 1993. I was eating this meal. I think it’s a little more expensive now. I’m going to eat all of this.”

  • Egg Whites 

Though he still trains seven days a week, Cutler lets loose sometimes. He also outlined his high-protein ‘treat day’ breakfast, which was made with two over-easy eggs, homemade pancakes, hashbrowns, a turkey patty, bacon, and a strawberry-flavored whey shake. 

Cutler isn’t the only dominant bodybuilding champ to share a go-to breakfast. Former six-time Classic Physique Olympia Chris Bumstead recently broke down his ‘gut healing’ breakfast shake. Like Cutler, ‘Cbum’ also includes blueberries in his creation. He credits the recipe for helping reverse damage from years of hardcore training. 

“It tastes incredible, and the texture is really good; my new current breakfast.” 

Cutler has refocused his efforts on long-lasting health in his 50s. This comes after his rival, Coleman, nearly lost his life last year. He was hospitalized with a severe sepsis infection in his bloodstream. Despite the setback, ‘The King’ has returned to training. His goal is to walk without assistance in the next few years. 

Between his Cutler Cast Podcast and tips online, Cutler’s influence on the sport is undeniable. He hasn’t forgotten the staple meals he incorporated to present one of the best physiques of all-time.
