Panama’s girls powerlifting won their home meet on Wednesday, beating Poteau 185-184. Pocola’s Elliott Alexander won total weight and squat Most Valuable Player. Panama’s Adison Dieter won MVP honors for bench press and deadlift.
Dieter won the 105-pound class with 480 pounds, beating Spiro’s Eiana Graham by 45. Alexander won the 143-pound class with 690 pounds, beating Broken Bow’s Kira Williamson by 35.
At 113, Poteau’s Jadyn Harper was second with 500 pounds.
At 123, Poteau’s Xianahi Ta won with 630 pounds, beating Maci Pickle by 45 pounds. At 132, Poteau’s Emily Pearson won with 545 pounds, beating Warner’s Tallon Ashmore by 30. At 168, Poteau’s Julianne Merritt won with 685 pounds, beating Maddison Douglas of Gore by 70. At 181, Poteau’s Marlee Chapa placed second. Chapa matched Hilldale’s Rylee Mattox with 545 pounds, but Mattox scored two more points in the lifts, 12-10.
At 198, Cadence Ysbrand won with 580, beating Mounds’ Kalli Morgan by 10. At 220, Panama’s Hayven Hoffman was second with 810 pounds.
