Nigeria’s powerlifting community delivered a strong international statement, as athletes of Fasino Powerlifting Club impressed at the 2026 Pure Powerlifting International Championship in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
Team Nigeria were represented by Onome Omolola Didih, Emmanuel Tuesday, Blessing Adebimpe, and Favour Agboro.
The Nigerian delegation secured a total of three gold medals and produced the second and third-best female lifters of the championship.
The National Sports Commission commended the athletes, coaches, and support personnel for their discipline, resilience, and proud representation of Nigeria.
