Milan, the place to be. The president of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Mohammed Jalood and his Secretary General José Quiñones visited the Lombard city last week to attend the 145th session of the IOCAn important meeting to meet with members of the body, discuss the future of the Olympic Movement and highlight the work done by the FI.
« We have had very fruitful meetings here in Milan, and we are clearly convinced that weightlifting is now considered a reliable, credible and renewed sport, explains Mohammed Jalood on the IWF website. The changes we have implemented in the fight against doping and to ensure good governance within our federation have borne fruit. The success of our competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and at the World Championships also proves that we are moving in the right direction. »
José Quiñones also shared an enthusiastic opinion. We must sincerely thank the IOC for its confidence. and his support for our efforts to modernize and make weightlifting more attractive to young people, he said.
