Rajashree Pednekar, an MCom final-year student of DCT’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College, delivered a record-breaking performance at the Inter-College Powerlifting Championship 2025–26 organised by Goa University. The event was held at the Silver Jubilee Hall in Taleigao from January 14 to 16.
Competing in the 57 kg category, Rajashree won the gold medal after registering a combined lift of 307 kg across the squat, bench press and deadlift, setting a new championship record. She was also adjudged the ‘Strongest Woman of Goa University’, outperforming 98 participants from colleges across the State.
In recognition of her feat, Rajashree will be featured on Herald TV’s Herald Heroes programme on January 27 at 8 pm. College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kamat congratulated her and assured full academic and sporting support.
