Martin Fitzwater has kept his physique under wraps heading into the 2026 Arnold Classic, but he’s been open about his diet. On Jan. 15, 2026, he broke down his 4,276-calorie full day of eating ahead of the show.
Martin Fitzwater proved his fourth-place finish at the 2024 Mr. Olympia wasn’t a fluke. When he returned to the high-profile event a year later, he placed fifth, outlasting a stacked lineup, including Nick Walker, Brandon Curry, and Tonio Burton. Many thought Fitzwater’s sharp conditioning could have commanded fourth place, which was earned by former champion Samson Dauda.
He got the chance to face off against Dauda a few weeks later. They battled at the 2025 Prague Pro. In a shocking upset, “The Martian” secured gold and successfully defended his title. With momentum, he plans to pull off another eye-opening performance in Columbus, Ohio.
Martin Fitzwater’s Full Day of Eating 9 Weeks from the 2026 Arnold Classic
Find his meal breakdown from the video below:
Meal 1
- 250 ml Egg Whites
- 2 Whole Eggs
- Veggies
Fitzwater began his day with an omelette, a high-protein option packed with amino acids.
“There’s definitely no pizza in my diet right now,” he shared. “Going to make it up like an omelette. I’ll cook the two eggs over easy and use the yolk like a sauce.”

Meal 2: Pre-Workout
- 120 grams of Elev8 Coconut Cream Pie Flavor
- 2 Scoops of Bum Itholate Protein Powder Birthday Cake Flavor
- 400-500 grams of Water
He kept it simple for his pre-workout meal, ensuring he took in enough carbs and protein to keep his performance from dropping.
“My pre-workout meal,” he said. “I like to make my cream of rice in a pan. I feel like it takes the same amount of time in the microwave, and you don’t end up with a clunky mess. I measured some water back there.”
Meal 3: Post-Workout
- 2 Scoops of Bum Itholate Rocky Road Flavor
After an intense hamstring session, Fitzwater refueled with a protein shake.
“I usually mix it in the car and drink it as I drive home,” said Fitzwater. “It’s absolutely delicious. This is probably in my top five favorite flavors.”
Meal 4
- White Potatoes (75 grams of carbs)
- 150 grams 99/1 Ground Turkey
- Cabbage
- Onions
- Garlic
He took down turkey with potatoes as his fourth meal and discussed why knowing how to cook is essential for bodybuilding success.
“All fresh vegetables cooked together, so I’ve talked about this before, but since it’s a full day of eating I’ll touch on it again. If you want to be a good bodybuilder, learn how to cook and enjoy the food because as you guys see my whole day is filled with eating.”
Meal 5
- 150 grams of 99/1 Ground Turkey
- 7 Rice Cakes
He forgot to prepare rice, but supplemented with a handful of rice cakes for his carb source.
“Boss has us do the plan where we weigh our meat raw and then cook it. I just know what it usually weighs cooked, but this is how I probably should do it, most days it’s like this.”
Meal 6
- White Potatoes
- Salt
- 150 grams of Chicken Breast
He seasoned his only chicken dish of the day with salt and pepper.
“A good bit of pepper,” he shared. “When I started measuring my salt and water for the Olympia prep, 10 cranks on this is exactly a gram,” he said.
Meal 7
- 2 Scoops of Bum Protein Powder Strawberry Shortcake Flavor
- 200 ml of Milk
- 100 ml of Water
- 30 grams of Almond Butter
Then, he enjoyed a protein shake with almond butter as his final meal. During off-seasons, he adds coffee creamer to it for a thicker texture.
“Nothing special here, especially in prep. In the off-season, I’ll add a splash of coffee creamer if it goes with the flavor of protein, and it helps make it a little more creamy and it also gives it a little bit of sweetness and you don’t need a lot.”
Despite going under the radar, Fitzwater has a legitimate chance of claiming gold at the Arnold Classic. However, he’ll face an impressive lineup. Walker aims to secure redemption, while frontrunners Hadi Choopan and Chinedu Andrew ‘Jacked’ Obiekea are slated for a showdown.
Fitzwater is keeping his diet clean with hopes of nailing down his first major bodybuilding title. The 2026 Arnold Classic is set for March 5-8 in Columbus, Ohio.
