The All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) on Wednesday accorded a warm reception to its players at the Imphal International Airport following their successful participation in the 12th Eastern India Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding & Physique Sports Championship 2026, held in Odisha on January 10 and 11.
The AMBBA contingent returned with an impressive haul of medals, securing one gold medal with the overall championship title, one bronze medal, and one fifth-place finish at the prestigious event.
Kshtrimaym Niraj Singh of Evolution Fitness, Thoubal, clinched the gold medal in the 90 kg category and was also crowned Overall Champion. Naorem Fredy Singh of DJ & Fitness Gym, Kakching, won the bronze medal in the 75 kg category. In the women’s segment, Phila Yangya of Royal Gymnasium, Ukhrul, secured a fifth-place finish in women’s bodybuilding.
AMBBA officials and well-wishers congratulated the athletes for bringing laurels to Manipur and lauded their dedication and hard work, expressing confidence that the state’s bodybuilders would continue to excel at national and international platforms.
