I was more interested in food and video games and that&#8217;s probably the main reason why.\u201d Vincent tells Men\u2019s Health UK. \u201cI didn&#8217;t enjoy PE, and obviously as someone who&#8217;s slightly overweight you don&#8217;t want to get changed in the changing rooms and stuff like that.\u201d  <\/p>\n<section aria-labelledby=\"recirc-heading\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-10\" data-node-id=\"8\" class=\"inline-content-module\"\/>\n<section data-embed=\"watch-next\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-11\" data-node-id=\"10\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"12\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Still, we know how this story ends, Vincent is now Insta famous for having a body that looks like it\u2019s struggling to contain all of his muscles, so he eventually got over his childhood issues with food, right? Well, not quite.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"14\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">He explains that he only took up fitness because a colleague made an insensitive comment about his weight, but while his two-fingers up response of going for early morning jogs \u2013 because that\u2019s what he believed fit people did \u2013 can be seen as a positive step, his relationship with food was anything but. That&#8217;s something that I&#8217;ve had to try and get rid of.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"19\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Having lost around 15kg in the space of a year, to bring him down to around 85kg, Vincent entered the world of bodybuilding, which is notorious for incubating unhealthy attitudes towards food. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/16618007\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/16618007\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"2006 study, published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry\" data-node-id=\"19.1\" class=\"body-link css-1d8p8n5 emevuu60\">2006 study, published in the Canadian Journal of Psychiatry<\/a>, that compared the eating habits of male bodybuilders with male bulimia sufferers found that both groups shared a preoccupation with weight and body shape, a tendency to binge eat, as well as finding high rates of bulimia among the bodybuilders.  <\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"pullquote\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-13\" data-node-id=\"20\" class=\"embed\">\n<blockquote data-theme-key=\"pullquote\" class=\"css-1eiql25 e1pe3zr91\"><p><span aria-hidden=\"true\" data-theme-key=\"title-design-element-before\" class=\"css-0 eagam8p0\"\/><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"css-1rgibtx e1pe3zr90\"><p>Dieting down for a show is just the most horrendous experience<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span aria-hidden=\"true\" data-theme-key=\"title-design-element-after\" class=\"css-0 eagam8p1\"\/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/section>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"22\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u201cMy relationship with food started to get even more unhealthy [when I became a bodybuilder]. Dieting down for a show is just the most horrendous experience when it comes to what you can eat. Being so low on calories and macros with low energy levels is a constant irritation,\u201d says Vincent. \u201cEverything you eat has to be calculated. It started affecting friendships because you can&#8217;t go out to eat in random places because you have to watch what you&#8217;re eating, and you have to take Tupperware everywhere with you. Honestly, I did not enjoy the experience of dieting down.\u201d <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"24\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Ultimately, the constant dieting and worrying about his weight became too much, so after three WBFF shows Vincent left <a href=\"https:\/\/www.menshealth.com\/uk\/building-muscle\/a759236\/complete-guide-to-bodybuilding\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.menshealth.com\/uk\/building-muscle\/a759236\/complete-guide-to-bodybuilding\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"the world of competitive bodybuilding\" data-node-id=\"24.1\" class=\"body-link css-1d8p8n5 emevuu60\">the world of competitive bodybuilding<\/a>. For a while, he maintained the cycle of cutting in the summer and bulking in the winter, partly because he was in the process of building his impressive Instagram following and partly because that\u2019s what everyone else did.<\/p>\n<hr data-node-id=\"25\" class=\"css-1xkwtv6 emevuu60\"\/>\n<h2 data-node-id=\"26\" class=\"body-h2 css-1gywm4a emevuu60\">Obi Vincent&#8217;s Daily Diet<\/h2>\n<ul data-node-id=\"27\" class=\"css-kw9lqy emevuu60\">\n<li data-node-id=\"27.0\">8am: Start the day with amino supplements before training<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"27.1\">1pm: First meal of the day, chicken with vegetables and a gluten-free cereal on the side<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"27.2\">Between 5pm and 7pm: Second meal of the day, Vincent will eat a plate consisting of something like chicken or fish with vegetables<\/li>\n<li data-node-id=\"27.3\">Around 9pm: Final meal of the day. &#8220;I always have carbs before bed, so I have something like high-fibre bread or I would have some more cereal. It depends on what I feel like having. I was constantly doing it for everything, so now I don&#8217;t count macros, I just eat whatever I feel like,\u201d says Vincent. \u201c90 per cent of my diet is clean and healthy. I eat the same way from Monday to Saturday. I\u2019m a creature of habit, so I would eat the same thing every day, the same way every day, which I know a lot of people can&#8217;t do, but for me, I find sticking to the same formula works.<\/p>\n<section data-embed=\"instagram\" data-lazy-id=\"P0-15\" data-node-id=\"34\" class=\"embed\"\/>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"36\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u201cI&#8217;ve been doing it for a year and it&#8217;s been working. Whenever I need to lose some extra fat  I will start counting macros, but at the moment my diet is, from the outside looking in, very monotonous and very boring, but it works for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"38\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Vincent\u2019s new intuitive approach to eating means that for the first time, he has a healthy relationship with food.
