<\/figure>\n<\/div>\nHull woman Steph Clappison will compete in the NABBA Miss Universe competition in Birmingham on Saturday(Image: )<\/cite><\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\nAs a young beauty salon owner Stephanie Clappison is used to making people look and feel their best.<\/p>\n
But the tides will turn on Saturday as she catapults herself into the limelight to take part in a global bodybuilding competition<\/a>.<\/p>\nAfter months of hard work in the gym and clean eating, Steph will compete against women from across the globe in the National Amateur Bodybuilders’ Association (NABBA) Miss Universe finals, held at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.<\/p>\n
This follows her previous successes which have seen her named Miss NABBA Britain 2018, Miss UK and Miss Yorkshire.<\/p>\n
Steph, 26, said: “I first started competing three-and-a-half years ago because I really wanted to challenge myself, both physically and mentally and do something out of my normal character.<\/p>\n

“It has been a lot of hard work, both in the gym and with a strict diet, but I feel like I am in the best shape I have ever been in and I am bringing the best package I can to the competition and that’s all I can do.<\/p>\n
“Don’t get me wrong, I have had difficult days where I don’t want to train or stick to the diet plan, but the bigger picture has always got me through.”<\/p>\n

“It will be my final competition for a while and this is going to be a great celebration and finish off the year in style.”<\/p>\n

The winner is then picked from the line up.<\/p>\n

“It has been difficult because when we have been to family celebrations etc I have not been able to have a drink with them, or when we have gone out for meals, I have had to take my food with me, but they have all been so supportive.<\/p>\n

Asked how she plans to celebrate the end of the competition, Steph replied: “With a nice glass of prosecco – it will have been well earnt.”<\/p>\n
