A Coventry<\/a> NHS<\/a> worker who balances nightshifts with daily weight training has celebrated victory after claiming a bodybuilding title in Manchester. Yasmin Hodge described the whole experience as ‘crazy.’<\/p>\n

Yasmin, 27, recently claimed the title after months of hard work and dedication which she said had been ‘far from easy.’ Her run of success began in the ‘NBW Classic’ run by the United Kingdom Drug-Free Bodybuilding Association.<\/p>\n

She won the ‘Open Bikini (Short Class)’ before securing the overall trophy by defeating the winners in the other categories. Her victories qualified her for the World Championships, where she dazzled judges with her toned physique.<\/p>\n

Yasmin, who works as a Senior Resuscitation Trauma Practitioner at University Hospital Coventry<\/a>, said: \u201cTo place first in a World Championships was incredible. It has taken a while to sink in. When I have come to work people have been saying ‘We have got a World Champion in the room’ and it sounds so crazy!<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just happy to be there on stage with other people who were the best in their class around the world, that was always going to be something special. It has not been easy balancing a demanding passion with my job, so I am really proud of what I have achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yasmin was a keen runner but switched to weights after the pandemic when she joined Future Fitness on Far Gosford Street. She said: \u201cI will train for two days and then have a rest day.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it falls on working days then I just juggle my meals to ensure I have enough food throughout my shift. It is a little bit different when I am on nights, but the gym is my outlet, the place I go to clear my head and see familiar faces. Sitting in front of the TV has never worked for me!\u201d<\/p>\n

Yasmin can now look forward to the British Championships, the European Championships in Germany and Natural Olympia in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
