\n \n Joe Lootfun, of Roll Gardens, trained for the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation (BNBF) event around working at Newham General Hospital, playing football and running.\n<\/p>\n \n He first got \u201cinto the gym\u201d after caring for famous bodybuilder Bill Stevens who got shot during a robbery.\n<\/p>\n \n The hospital managed to save his leg and as a thank you he gave Mr Lootfun a gym membership and training gear.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cWhen I was younger I saw a film called Hercules and I was fascinated by his physical body,\u201d said Mr Lootfun\n<\/p>\n \n \n \u201cI always did a lot of sport but didn\u2019t really go to the gym until Bill took me one day \u2013 I saw lots of American actors there.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \n Today Mr Lootfun trains at Apple\u2019s Health Club, Eastern Avenue, Newbury Park and said he only decided to enter a competition after another gym goer persuaded him to give it a go.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cTraining for the completion was very hard, and I had to watch my diet,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cI didn\u2019t eat biscuits, had hot water every morning and ate lots of salad \u2013 I dropped from 87kg to 74 kg.\u201d\n<\/p>\n \n The bodybuilder, who has never smoked and doesn\u2019t drink, came fourth at his debut BNBF competition and said he will definitely be taking part next year.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cI have motivated my wife and daughter,\u201d he said.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cThey didn\u2019t eat fruit but now they go to the gym.\n<\/p>\n \n Mr Lootfun\u2019s daughter, Hannah, said her dad is an \u201cinspiration\u201d and she hopes she is as fit as him when she is 67.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cMy dad was always nagging me about eating fruit and vegetable and going to the gym but I never used to listened to him,\u201d she said.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cSince he started training for the body building competition I saw him change from being overweight and stressed to being fit healthy and glowing.\n<\/p>\n \n \u201cI am so proud of my dad, he is an inspiration to me.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n![\"Ilford](\"https:\/\/www.ilfordrecorder.co.uk\/resources\/images\/15061577.jpg?type=mds-article-575 "\\"Ilford")
