On Dec. 31, 2025, via YouTube, <strong>he broke down how to meal prep and revealed one of his go-to high-protein dishes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/lee-priest-bulking-diet\/\">Lee Priest<\/a> competed during one of the most competitive eras the sport has seen. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, he held his own against taller and bigger athletes. His ability to peak for contests in granite condition turned him into a top-tier threat. He even managed to defeat <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/ronnie-coleman-profile\/\">Ronnie Coleman<\/a>, a former eight-time Mr. Olympia, <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/lee-priest-ronnie-coleman-mens-open-talk\/\">seven times in competition<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Priest hasn\u2019t officially retired from the sport. However, he admits <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/lee-priest-chest-atrophy-2023-masters-olympia\/\">chest atrophy<\/a> has prevented his return. Despite the setback, he\u2019s determined to help his fanbase. With the New Year upon us, he outlined how to<a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/meal-prep-essentials\/\"> meal prep<\/a> effectively for results.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"lee-priest-discusses-meal-prep-benefits\">Lee Priest Discusses Meal Prep Benefits<\/h2>\n<p>In the recent YouTube video, Priest said it\u2019s important to have prepared meals, otherwise athletes risk veering off their diets:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"pullquote align-center\">\n<p>\u201cThe main thing is, too, like I said, if you have those prepared meals and stuff ready to go\u2026 you\u2019ll find you stick to it more too. I find there\u2019s nothing worse than when you are hungry, and there\u2019s nothing prepared.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s when you go for the shit food. What\u2019s quick and easy? You grab biscuits, or cookies, or fuck, I\u2019ll just stop at McDonald\u2019s. I\u2019ve looked in the fridge and go, I don\u2019t want to cook this steak. Oh fuck, I\u2019ll have some cashews and a bag of chips. How that equates to a meal, I don\u2019t know.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Steak, white rice, with a dash of pink salt was one of Priest\u2019s favorite high-protein meals throughout his career.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI like rice sometimes just plain, and I\u2019d just put a little bit of pink salt on the rice. Steak and rice with a bit of pink salt on it, to me, that tastes so good. I don\u2019t like sauces on steak.<\/p>\n<p>I like the steak plain with the rice plain sometimes. Sometimes, I\u2019d have rice where I\u2019d cut up those shallot-type onions and mix it in, and little things like that just to give it a bit of taste. There are options to do, but sometimes it\u2019s the prep.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>His final tip was to avoid the grocery store if you\u2019re hungry. He revealed that he always eats extra calories during his strolls at the store, which can stall progress.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cNever go to the grocery store hungry. The amount of shit I put in my cart or the amount of shit I\u2019m eating while walking around, I got custard tarts going in, I\u2019m thinking, what the fuck am I getting this all for? By the time I get home, I don\u2019t want a meal, I\u2019ve eaten so much shit walking around the store,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4HUBi8p_p7A&amp;t=352s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">shared<\/a> Lee Priest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Priest isn\u2019t the only IFBB Pro to offer meal prep advice. Dana Linn Bailey, the former 2013 Women\u2019s Physique Olympia, also provided her <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/dana-linn-bailey-meal-prepping-diet-guide\/\">\u2018consistent\u2019 checklist for effective meal prepping<\/a>. She added that making simple choices can have a substantial impact on progress.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSimple little choices can make a huge difference. Like, choosing water over soda or grilled over fried, whole food over processed, it\u2019s making these simple choices, especially when you\u2019re traveling or eating out at a restaurant,\u201d she shares.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Priest literally transformed his physique in off-seasons to prep using food.
