The most significant natural bodybuilding show of the year, <\/span>Natural Olympia<\/span><\/a><\/span>, is officially a month away. And competitors are putting it into high gear to prep their physiques for the Super Bowl of natural bodybuilding. One standout Natural Olympia competitor, <\/span>Matias Scopinaro<\/b>, compares his physique at the end of September last year to how it looks this year during his Natural Olympia prep.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Matias Scompinaro is a natural bodybuilder with the Professional <\/span>Natural Bodybuilding<\/span> <\/span><\/a>Association (PNBA) from Argentina. He\u2019s a 3x Natural Olympia competitor and placed in the top 10 in the Classic Physique category at the 2021 Natural Olympia<\/a><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On September 29, 2022, Scopinaro uploaded a physique update to Instagram and stated (translated to English):<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cComparison of previous preparation with now on the same day (September 29).<\/span><\/p>\n All the preparations are different, each marking brings more details in the body year after year. The competition is with yourself. It\u2019s always about improving your own version. I visualize every time I go on stage to have next to me the version that I presented the previous year and my goal is that this version has no chance to be compared with my new version.<\/span><\/p>\n Trying new strategies, I am my own guinea pig. This preparation is being very different from the previous one. I enjoy the process of trying new methods, putting new ideas into practice. My obsession and passion is to continue testing, calibrating, learning. Scopinaro believes it isn\u2019t healthy or logical for bodybuilders to risk their lives for \u201cplastic trophies.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n He understands why it was an issue in the 60s when technology wasn\u2019t as advanced, and people weren\u2019t aware of the health consequences of steroids. However, he doesn\u2019t understand why people abuse them today when they\u2019re fully aware of the potential effects. He believes the whole point of bodybuilding is to improve your physical conditioning, health, and vital energy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Fortunately for Matias Scopinaro, the International Natural Bodybuilding Association (INBA) PNBA follow a strict drug testing protocol. They vet their athletes in-season and off-season through the most rigorous drug testing guidelines, the <\/span>World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)<\/span><\/a><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n WADA is the elite drug testing standard in professional sports, and the Olympics use it. WADA-compliant labs detect drugs that could otherwise go undetected through other testing metrics.
