In the show\u2019s aftermath, questions about his victory surfaced. Some argued that Dauda should have won because he scored more points on day two, though \u201cThe Mutant\u201d ultimately emerged with his hand raised.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Weeks after the showdown, Lee Haney said the sport was in a state of disarray, warning that <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/lee-haney-warns-judges-are-favoring-near-death-conditioning\/\">\u2018near-death\u2019 conditioning could lead more athletes to pass away<\/a> prematurely. He believes judges use three factors to pick a winner in today\u2019s era: size, muscularity, and conditioning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPosing routines? It\u2019s not judged at all, whatsoever, period. Posing is out. So, the point about posing, nothing as far as I see it, so as long as you can hit your mandatories correctly, that\u2019s enough.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMen\u2019s Open bodybuilding, that era, that train, and that perspective left the station when <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/dorian-yates\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"dorian-yates\">Dorian Yates<\/a> arrived. And we have transitioned exclusively into size, muscularity, and condition. Even fans who don\u2019t know what they\u2019re talking about, let alone good judges, people who have been around the sport, can recognize size, muscularity, and condition. Those are the heavyweight three factors that impact who wins a competition.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Aceto isn\u2019t the only bodybuilding veteran to <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/samir-bannout-criticizes-samson-dauda-andrew-jacked\/\">disagree with Haney\u2019s outlook<\/a>. Former 1983 Mr. Olympia <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/samir-bannout\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"samir-bannout\">Samir Bannout<\/a> recently emphasized that competitors can get \u2018dry as the desert sand\u2019 without implementing dangerous practices, like diuretic use, which he said has been largely misused by modern coaches.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Men\u2019s Open division has certainly undergone immense changes since Bannout\u2019s time on top.
