He spoke in a clip the More Life Podcast posted to Instagram on October 24.<\/p>\n<p>Bumstead won <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/chris-bumstead\/\">six straight Classic Physique Olympia titles<\/a> from 2019 to 2024. Von Moger never faced him on a pro stage, and the first of his major injuries happened while the two were filming a workout together.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"what-calum-von-moger-said-about-chris-bumstead\">What Calum Von Moger Said About Chris Bumstead<\/h2>\n<p>Von Moger said he only ever wanted one Olympia win. I\u2019ve got a lot of other different life experiences instead.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In June 2024 he still talked about a comeback. He told Larry Wheels on a podcast that he <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/calum-von-moger-discusses-goal-of-winning-classic-physique-olympia\/\">might compete in 2025<\/a>. Two years later, in a YouTube video recorded after his <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/calum-von-moger-explains-move-to-thailand-and-bodybuilding-aspirations\/\">move to Thailand<\/a>, he said: \u201cI had accepted that I wasn\u2019t getting into the Classic Physique Olympia.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how-von-moger-tore-his-biceps-training-with-bumstead\">How Von Moger Tore His Biceps Training With Bumstead<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/divisions\/classic-physique\/\">Classic Physique<\/a> made its Olympia debut in 2016, when <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/danny-hester\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"danny-hester\">Danny Hester<\/a> won the first title. Von Moger had competed in the WFF and NABBA, federations outside the IFBB Pro League, and he said in 2024 that the new division looked \u201cperfect\u201d for him: \u201cMy goal was to be on the Olympia stage for Classic Physique.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In November 2016 he won the Classic Physique overall at the NPC Iron Games in Culver City, California. It was his <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/3482\/calum-von-moger-wins-2016-npc-iron-game\/\">first show with the NPC<\/a>, the amateur league whose national shows award IFBB pro cards.<\/p>\n<p>Late in 2017, about two months after Bumstead placed second at that year\u2019s Classic Physique Olympia, Von Moger ran into him at Gold\u2019s Gym Venice, and the two filmed a two-man barbell curl for a video. Von Moger tore his biceps on the lift. His MRI showed \u201ca complete tear in the distal biceps tendon,\u201d he wrote at the time, and he needed <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/18715\/calum-von-moger-ill-need-surgery-fix-bicep\/\">surgery to reattach it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2018, still recovering, he fell while rappelling down a cliff with his brothers. \u201cI tore my bicep again when I tried to pull myself up the cliff,\u201d he wrote. The fall also left him with \u201ca complete rupture of my quadriceps tendon, dislocated kneecap,\u201d he said in <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/24379\/calum-von-moger-severe-injuries\/\">a post the same week<\/a>. The overall went to <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/tomas-adame-hernandez\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"tomas-adame-hernandez\">Tomas Adame-Hernandez<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That made him a pro in Bumstead\u2019s division a month before the 2020 Olympia in Orlando, where Bumstead won the second of his six titles. Von Moger has not entered an IFBB Pro League show since, so he never earned the pro win or the qualification points it takes to get an Olympia invitation.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2022 he jumped from a second-story window, and doctors placed him in a medically induced coma. He <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/calum-von-moger-discharged-hospital-home-walking\/\">left hospital<\/a> two weeks later. In 2023 he said he was <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/calum-von-moger-not-looking-champion-bodybuilder-anymore\/\">no longer trying to become a champion bodybuilder<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bumstead retired from Classic Physique after his sixth title in 2024. He then entered one Men\u2019s Open show, the 2024 EVLS Prague Pro, and <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/chris-bumstead-reflects-on-prague-pro-hadi-choopan-reacts\/\">placed second to Martin Fitzwater<\/a>.
