In an October 17 video, <strong>he explained why <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/martin-fitzwater\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"martin-fitzwater\">Martin Fitzwater<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/derek-lunsford\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"derek-lunsford\">Derek Lunsford<\/a> were the biggest disappointments of the weekend.<\/strong> In addition, he talked about <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/nick-walker\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"nick-walker\">Nick Walker<\/a>\u2019s winning mindset that helped him make history.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last month\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/2026-mr-olympia-results\/\">Mr. Olympia<\/a> contest shocked the bodybuilding community to its core. Against the odds, Nick Walker secured the Sandow trophy after out-muscling Derek Lunsford and <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/samson-dauda\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"samson-dauda\">Samson Dauda<\/a> in the finals. For the second time of his career, Lunsford dropped to third place despite entering the event as the reigning champion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Martin Fitzwater was considered a frontrunner ahead of the prestigious event. However, he missed the mark and couldn\u2019t even crack the final callout. Ultimately, \u201cThe Martian\u201d settled for 13th place, eight spots below his <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/2025-mr-olympia-results\/\">fifth-place finish in 2025<\/a>. Looking at Martin\u2019s pictures leading up to the show, I was expecting more. I don\u2019t really know what happened there to Martin. I think that was disappointing. I was expecting him to be up in the top six, that high, and whatever happened, happened. It\u2019s bodybuilding.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He named Lunsford as his second biggest disappointment:\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cThe other one would probably be Derek. He still looked good but when we\u2019re talking disappointment, I\u2019m thinking he was probably more disappointed in himself than anyone. He looked okay, but when you got Nick coming in like that, and Samson coming in improved like that. Like I said, if you give up just a little bit, you\u2019re going to get moved down. Sadly, I think that\u2019s what happened to Derek.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>When competing at the highest level, Priest is adamant that mental toughness is required for every Mr. Olympia champion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019ve got that mental toughness and you can push through and stay positive, look at Nick; all the people, he\u2019s never going to win the Olympia. He\u2019s this, he\u2019s that. He\u2019s like okay, whatever. He said he\u2019d win it one day. Like I said, if you\u2019ve got the mental toughness and you got that willpower, you can accomplish anything. That\u2019s what it comes down to.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of people probably haven\u2019t seen their best yet, and all it takes is just getting this fucking right in their head, and then you\u2019ll see their best,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=RoF7ZbMRr6k&amp;list=PL3CCpWTy4eE0eevhOSNTTmdgM95Ihfir9&amp;index=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">explained<\/a> Lee Priest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lunsford\u2019s coach, Chris Aceto, has also spoken up about their loss. He <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/chris-aceto-on-nick-walker-2026-mr-olympia-win-and-derek-lunsford\/\">didn\u2019t dispute Walker\u2019s Olympia victory<\/a>, but he thought Lunsford displayed sharper conditioning throughout the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u201cI thought his condition was the best in the show. I think the level of muscularity, which is different from condition, Nick had the most amount of muscularity in the show. \u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Time will tell if Lunsford and Fitzwater consider a quick turnaround.
