The eight-member squad features Jhandu Kumar, who won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow. Kumar lifted his lifetime best of 190kg. Suman Devi, Jaspreet Kaur, Ashok, and Parmjeet Kumar were also part of the CWG 2026 campaign. India has approved a 275-member contingent for the Asian Para Games 2026. The Indian contingent includes 166 athletes, with 111 men and 55 women para athletes, participating in 10 sporting events. The approval also includes 109 officials accompanying the contingent. The Para Games 2026 are scheduled from 18 to 24 October in Nagoya. He won the medal with a lift of 190kg and attempted 196kg on his final attempt to set a Commonwealth Games record.<\/p>\n<p>His podium finish was also significant for India, as it marked the country\u2019s first medal at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportscapemagazine.com\/blog\/team-india-finished-fourth-at-commonwealth-games-2026-glasgow\" class=\"text-royal hover:underline\">2026 Commonwealth Games<\/a>.
