In an October 3 video,<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/shawn-ray\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"shawn-ray\">Shawn Ray<\/a> called<\/strong> <strong>Walker\u2019s physique \u2018ugly\u2019 and said his win was a fluke. He went on to label <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/samson-dauda\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"samson-dauda\">Samson Dauda<\/a> as the best bodybuilder on the planet.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Men\u2019s Open headliner, Nick Walker <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/2026-mr-olympia-prejudging-report\/\">dominated prejudging<\/a>, putting him ahead on the scorecards. Dauda tightened up for the finals, but lacked the points needed to swing the contest in his favor. \u201cThe Mutant\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/2026-mr-olympia-results\/\">established himself as only the 20th champion<\/a> of the prestigious event. Competing in an era full of aesthetic threats, Ray is surprised to see Walker\u2019s freaky physique representing the sport.\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"shawn-ray-talks-nick-walkers-ugly-physique-and-his-2026-mr-olympia-victory\">Shawn Ray Talks Nick Walker\u2019s \u2018Ugly\u2019 Physique and His 2026 Mr. Olympia Victory\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>During a recent interview, Ray named Dauda as the best bodybuilder on the planet despite Walker holding the Olympia crown.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s be honest, Samson is the best bodybuilder on the planet, even though Nick Walker has the title. I say that to quantify it. This is a two-day show. Every pro bodybuilder that steps on that Olympia stage understands. If they don\u2019t, they do now, that it ain\u2019t over till it\u2019s over.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow, on paper, Samson is already Mr. Olympia. He knew what he had to do. He had to go up to 350 pounds and get bigger; he went over and competed in Germany, and whatever. Nick Walker sat back and listened to all the criticism. He heard the pundits talk about the impossible. It\u2019s gritty, gnarly; it\u2019s the mutant. And that\u2019s okay too, because it\u2019s different. If I\u2019m talkin about beauty, I\u2019m talking about <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/frank-zane\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"frank-zane\">Frank Zane<\/a>. If I\u2019m talking about classical, I\u2019m talking about <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/samir-bannout\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"samir-bannout\">Samir Bannout<\/a>.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on the outcome, Ray said Walker\u2019s victory was a fluke and compared his work ethic to Mike Tyson\u2019s.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI never imagined a physique like Nick Walker would be the best physique on the planet,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=abA63PMewsY&amp;t=108s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cNot only was this a fluke, this was in the making as far as his plan. You go back and listen to Nick Walker when he wasn\u2019t winning, and he\u2019s telling you I\u2019m going to be Mr. Olympia one day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat reminds me of a young Mike Tyson being told by Cus D\u2019Amato at 15 years old that you\u2019re going to be the youngest heavyweight champion one day. At some point, Mike Tyson believed that, and guess what happened? He became the youngest heavyweight champion of the world.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ray also holds a strong opinion on Walker\u2019s decision to compete at the 2027 Arnold Classic. He believes it could backfire, the same way it did for Samson Dauda two years ago.
