Friday\u2019s Mr. Olympia 2026 finals featured a Classic Physique competition that will be remembered for a long time to come. In 2025, Ramon Dino made history as the first Brazilian winner of this division, defeating Mike Sommerfeld by a single point. A spectacular rematch between the two was therefore highly anticipated. During the comparison round (under the watchful eye of head judge Steve Weinberger), Ramon Dino gradually tightened up his physique as he tried to hold onto his lead.<\/p>\n
But Mike Sommerfeld left nothing to chance. He brought noticeable improvements to the stage compared to his performance at the Arnold Classic UK\u2014he showcased fuller legs and a broader back. Moreover, this year he met the weight limit without any problems, so he could focus on perfecting his peak conditioning rather than shedding pounds at the last minute in the sauna.<\/p>\n
The competition, however, was relentless. Terrence Ruffin fought for the top spots with his signature, absolutely flawless routine and improved triceps, which helped him in the side poses. Wesley Vissers wasn\u2019t far behind either, showcasing more massive quadriceps without losing his renowned muscle separation.<\/p>\n
But the biggest surprise and revelation of the evening was Niall Darwen. His physique had such an imposing and dominant presence on stage that it completely caught even the biggest favorites off guard. The judges put the competitors through several grueling rounds of comparisons, and when the dust settled, Las Vegas had a new king. Niall Darwen shocked the world and takes the gold! Mike Sommerfeld claims another excellent\u2014albeit narrow\u2014second-place finish, while defending champion Ramon Dino has to settle for bronze.<\/p>\n
