{"id":28862,"date":"2026-09-09T18:50:42","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T18:50:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldbodybuildingnews.com\/?p=28862"},"modified":"2026-09-09T18:50:42","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T18:50:42","slug":"oman-bodybuilders-gear-up-for-ifbb-world-championships-in-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldbodybuildingnews.com\/?p=28862","title":{"rendered":"Oman bodybuilders gear up for IFBB World Championships in Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>MUSCAT, SEPT 9<\/p>\n<p>The national bodybuilders are gearing up for a demanding international campaign that will see the Sultanate of Oman\u2019s leading bodybuilders to vie at the IFBB World Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s Championships 2026 which will take place in Santa Susanna, Spain, from October 29 to November 2.<\/p>\n<p>The world championships will be followed by another major assignment at the Asian Championships and Asian Open Championships which is scheduled to be held in Thailand from November 13 to 16, giving the Omani athletes a busy international programme over a short period.<\/p>\n<p>The Oman Bodybuilding Committee (OBC) has put in place a comprehensive preparation programme aimed at ensuring the athletes reach both championships in optimum physical and competitive condition. The programme includes a series of internal training camps at selected gyms and locations across the Sultanate of Oman, allowing the athletes to maintain their conditioning while working closely with the technical team. Oman head into the international season with considerable confidence following a series of impressive performances on the continental and world stages.<\/p>\n<p>At the last edition of the IFBB World Championships in Dammam in the previous year in Saudi Arabia, Oman\u2019s bodybuilders produced a strong show as they had managed to secure seven medals including two silver and five bronze. The achievement had highlighted the growing competitiveness of Omani athletes against some of the strongest bodybuilders in the world.  The team also had enjoyed an outstanding campaign at the 2025 West Asian Bodybuilding Championship in Bahrain, where Omani competitors captured eight gold medals and helped Oman finish second in the overall standings. The recent achievements in West Asia and at the IFBB World Championships have reflected the steady progress of Omani bodybuilding and the athletes\u2019 ability to compete successfully at the highest level.<\/p>\n<p>Among the leading names expected to be considered for the national team for the upcoming championships are Ahmed al Hadidi, Abdullah al Amri, Ahmed al Hasni, Abdulmajeed al Raisi, veteran athlete Fairooz al Alawi, Ali al Maamari, Salam al Riyami, Khalid al Shukaili and beside other new faces. In the physique categories, Muneer al Luwaihi is also among the probable representatives. The final selection will be based on the athletes\u2019 readiness and performance during the preparation period as the committee will seek to field a competitive squad for both major events.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish world championships will also provide an important platform away from the competition stage.
