{"id":28819,"date":"2026-09-09T06:01:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-09T06:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldbodybuildingnews.com\/?p=28819"},"modified":"2026-09-09T06:01:00","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T06:01:00","slug":"powerlifters-end-on-a-golden-note","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldbodybuildingnews.com\/?p=28819","title":{"rendered":"Powerlifters End On A Golden Note"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SELANGOR: <\/strong>A five-gold haul capped a stellar Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 campaign for Sarawak\u2019s para powerlifting squad, which finished as the overall champion with eight medals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The squad ended its campaign with five gold, one silver and two bronze medals, successfully achieving the target set before the Games.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Team manager Rosmalina Mat Darus said she was pleased with the overall performance and achievements of the athletes throughout the competition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am very satisfied with the performance and achievements of our para powerlifters this time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBasically, we have achieved the target we set, which was to win five gold medals,\u201d she told Sarawak Tribune.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rosmalina also praised the fighting spirit displayed by the athletes throughout the competition, saying each of them gave their best when they stepped onto the platform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe athletes gave their best when competing in their respective events,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She was particularly impressed by the performances of Sarawak\u2019s new athletes, who made an impact on their debut at the Games by contributing to the team\u2019s medal haul.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is very encouraging to see the performances of our new athletes, who also managed to make their mark as medal contributors,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The five gold medals were won by Anson Tiong Cheong Huat in the men\u2019s 49kg, Bibiana Ahmad in the women\u2019s 61kg, Johannes Gabriel Chew in the men\u2019s 65kg, Sona Agon in the women\u2019s 61kg and Bryan Junency Gustin in the men\u2019s 88kg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mohd Firdaus Affandi secured silver in the men\u2019s 80kg, while Nurul Rabiatul Adawiyah Bakri and Brownson John Gustin contributed bronze medals in the women\u2019s 61kg and men\u2019s 88kg respectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The haul saw Sarawak finish its para powerlifting campaign on top of the overall standings, underlining the squad\u2019s strength across the various weight categories.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sarawaktribune.com\/powerlifters-end-on-a-golden-note\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SELANGOR: A five-gold haul capped a stellar Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 campaign for Sarawak\u2019s para powerlifting squad, which finished as the overall champion with eight medals.
