A year prior, <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/chris-bumstead\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"chris-bumstead\">Chris Bumstead<\/a> announced <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/2024-classic-physique-olympia-results\/\">his retirement<\/a> from the class after earning his sixth consecutive title. This left a vacancy, and fans had a few names on the shortlist who could take the torch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mike Sommerfeld entered the show with momentum, but was nearly pulled out after <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/mike-sommerfeld-makes-height-weight-2025-olympia\/\">missing the height and weight cap<\/a>. While he successfully made weight, he lost to Dino three poses to two. According to Tyler Manion, Dino\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/tyler-manion-2025-mr-olympia-breakdown-classic-physique\/\">conditioning, size, and fullness tipped the contest<\/a> in his favor. Other capable contenders could pull off shock upsets at the Mr. Olympia. <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/bodybuilding\/athletes\/terrence-ruffin\/\" class=\"bb-athlete-link\" data-athlete-slug=\"terrence-ruffin\">Terrence Ruffin<\/a>, a two-time <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/arnold-classic\/2022\/\">Arnold Classic<\/a> champion, remains one of the most decorated athletes in the lineup. He proved himself last season with a bronze finish at the 2025 Mr. Olympia, with many noting that he had the best posing of the entire event.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dino won\u2019t look past his rivals, but has teased an eventual move to the Men\u2019s Open division. He emphasized that he <a href=\"https:\/\/fitnessvolt.com\/ramon-queiroz-classic-physique-olympia-five-years-mens-open\/\">plans to win five more Classic Physique Olympia titles<\/a> before making the switch. For now, he\u2019s laser-focused on extending his reign.
