{"id":28735,"date":"2026-09-08T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-08T08:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldbodybuildingnews.com\/?p=28735"},"modified":"2026-09-08T08:30:00","modified_gmt":"2026-09-08T08:30:00","slug":"sona-powers-sarawak-to-another-para-powerlifting-gold","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldbodybuildingnews.com\/?p=28735","title":{"rendered":"Sona Powers Sarawak To Another Para Powerlifting Gold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SELANGOR: <\/strong>Sona Agon powered her way to another gold for Sarawak after lifting 94kg to win the women\u2019s over-61kg para powerlifting final at Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 today (Sept 8).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 37-year-old para powerlifter produced her best effort in the final to finish comfortably on top of the podium.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her composed performance saw her maintain the lead against the challenge from the other competitors, with her 94kg lift proving enough to seal the top spot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selangor\u2019s Rosnani Kasim took silver with a best lift of 80kg, while Pahang\u2019s Melinda Tiong Zhing Zhing claimed bronze after managing 75kg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Sarawak\u2019s Mohd Firdaus Affandi had to settle for silver in the men\u2019s over-80kg category after lifting 130kg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firdaus was unable to match Perak\u2019s Mohammad Akmal Danish, who secured the gold medal with a best lift of 137kg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Johor\u2019s Mohamad Azam Asmawi completed the podium with a 125kg lift to take bronze.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sona\u2019s victory boosted Sarawak\u2019s para powerlifting haul, with Firdaus adding a silver to the State\u2019s medal tally.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sarawaktribune.com\/sona-powers-sarawak-to-another-para-powerlifting-gold\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SELANGOR: Sona Agon powered her way to another gold for Sarawak after lifting 94kg to win the women\u2019s over-61kg para powerlifting final at Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 today (Sept 8).
