Photo credit: Ukas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>            <!-- content --><\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-rec td-a-rec-id-content_top  tdi_3 td_block_template_14\">\n<span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span><a href=\"\">&#13;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/div>\n<p>By DayakDaily Team<\/p>\n<p>KUCHING, Sept 7: Bibiana Ahmad may have already struck gold, but the bigger challenge lies ahead as Sarawak begins mapping out her path from domestic success to international competition and ultimately, a shot at the Paralympic Games 2028 in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Bibiana\u2019s victory in the women\u2019s Lightweight 61kg category is not only a significant achievement but also forms part of Sarawak\u2019s early preparations to build her towards the Paralympic Games 2028.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-rec td-a-rec-id-content_inline  tdi_2 td_block_template_14\">\n<span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span><a href=\"\">&#13;<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/dayakdaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Amber-Publishing-Advertisement_gif2.gif\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/div>\n<p>Her coach, Jamil Adam, said the achievement came after Bibiana had spent time in the podium programme, although her previous preparations had largely focused on national-level competitions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will try to maintain this achievement and good performance, while at the same time, we are preparing a pathway towards the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe has only been in the programme for a year, and we hope that next year she can participate in several international competitions and perform at a very high level to qualify for the Paralympics 2028 in Los Angeles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Jamil said the team\u2019s focus would now extend beyond domestic competitions, with international exposure forming an important part of Bibiana\u2019s development and preparations for the Paralympic qualification pathway.<\/p>\n<p>He said preparations were already being stepped up to ensure Bibiana would be ready to compete at international events, including the Para Games scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur next year.<\/p>\n<p>The team is also eyeing a competition in Mexico this November as part of its preparations, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, at this early stage of preparation, we are giving our full focus to ensuring she is ready to face any international events next year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>For Bibiana, the latest gold therefore represents more than a medal, with the result providing an early foundation as she looks to make the transition from national-level competition to the international stage and keep her Paralympic dream on track. \u2014DayakDaily<\/p>\n<p> <!-- A generated by theme --> <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span><noscript id=\"td-ad-placeholder\"\/><\/p>\n<p> <!-- end A --> <\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/dayakdaily.com\/bibianas-gold-puts-swak-para-powerlifting-on-road-to-paralympic-games-2028-in-la\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bibiana Ahmad\u2019s breakthrough comes as preparations begin to chart her pathway towards the Paralympic Games 2028 in Los Angeles.
