Quarterback Bo Bryan<\/a> isn’t the only player on the\u00a0Battle Ground Academy (Franklin, Tenn.)<\/a>\u00a0football roster with a famous father.<\/p>\n

Luke Bryan might have legions of fans at sold-out country shows, but does he lift?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brandon Curry, the father of Battle Ground Academy wide receiver Max Curry<\/a>, does. He is a former Mr. Olympia and also a pretty good football player in his own right.<\/p>\n

The 43-year-old Brandon Curry won the 2019 Mr. Olympia title and is also a two-time
\n Arnold Classic champion. He played high
\nschool football at Hunters Lane (Nashville, Tenn.)<\/a> before playing briefly at Middle Tennessee State.<\/div>\n

“They look at me and look at him and say, ‘Is that your dad?'” Max Curry told The Tennessean in a story last year<\/a>. “When I tell them yes they’re all like super shocked and
\nsurprised. I mean, they’ve never seen anything like him. He’s not only a
\n bodybuilder, but one of the best in the world.”<\/div>\n

Max Curry is now making a name for himself. He had 191 yards receiving on five catches and two scores as Battle Ground Academy opened the season Saturday with 41-18 win over St. Michael Catholic of Alabama.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Preseason MaxPreps Junior All-American housed one Saturday from 80 yards. As a sophomore in 2025, he caught 57 passes for 1,404 yards and 20 touchdowns as Battle Ground Academy won the Division II-AA state title.<\/p>\n

A four-star prospect, Curry has more than 30 offers from FBS heavyweights including Alabama, Miami, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He received his first offer before playing a snap of high school football.<\/p>\n

He and sophomore Maddox Porter<\/a>\u00a0form a dynamic pass-catching duo for Bryan as the Wildcats look to return to the state title game and again hoist the trophy.<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
