The new feature from Generation Iron<\/a>, announced for a 2027 Netflix release, follows a plaintiff-side consumer-protection attorney who also competes as an IFBB Pro in Men\u2019s Physique, and it puts artificial intelligence at the center of how his firm actually runs cases.<\/p>\n

Sounds like a marketing pitch. It\u2019s the problem the film is trying to work through, and it\u2019s worth unpacking on its own before the movie ever drops.<\/p>\n

Consumer Law Has a Volume Problem<\/h2>\n

Consumer-rights work looks glamorous from the outside: big defendants, class actions, headline settlements. The day-to-day is something else. Robocalls, junk texts, illegal debt collection messages, sketchy credit reports, and data-breach fallout all generate small individual harms across millions of people.<\/p>\n

Any one case is modest. The aggregate is enormous. That volume is where the pressure sits. A plaintiff-side firm can only take what it can staff, and traditional intake (phone screens, spreadsheets, paralegals hand-checking statutes) caps how many real violations a firm can turn into filed cases. Meanwhile the defendants keep automating.<\/p>\n

Call centers run predictive dialers, debt collectors fire off scheduled text blasts, and a single breach can expose millions of records at once. The plaintiffs\u2019 bar has been outgunned on tooling for years.<\/p>\n

Hiring More Paralegals Doesn\u2019t Fix It<\/h2>\n

The obvious answer is to throw people at the problem: grow the intake team, add associates, maybe open another office. It\u2019s the same instinct any busy small business has, and it runs into the same wall.<\/p>\n

Headcount scales linearly and expensively. Consumer statutes reward speed and precision on tiny fact patterns: was the message sent between 8pm and 8am, was consent revoked, was a specific disclosure missing, did the furnisher reinvestigate within the statutory window. A human reading intake forms can catch some of that. A human reading ten thousand intake forms cannot catch it consistently, and the marginal case gets rejected not because it\u2019s weak but because nobody had time to see it clearly.<\/p>\n

The result is a system where the strongest claims get filed and a long tail of legitimate violations slip through without a filing. Defendants notice. If your enforcement risk is capped by your opponent\u2019s staffing, you price the fine into the cost of doing business and keep going.<\/p>\n

The Real Fix Is Moving AI to the Plaintiff\u2019s Side<\/h2>\n

This is the pivot the documentary sits on. For most of the last decade, AI in litigation lived on the defense side: e-discovery review, predictive coding, contract analytics at big firms defending big companies.
