His bronze medal in Tbilisi, Georgia marked a watershed moment for the sport in India.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"18\"\/>Paramjeet&#8217;s journey has been one of perseverance. Affected by polio in both legs at the age of two, he turned adversity into motivation and gradually rose through the ranks with years of dedication and hard work. Before his world championship breakthrough, he had already announced himself on the continental stage by winning a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Para Games.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"20\"\/>The 2024 Paris Paralympics provided another milestone in his career. He qualified for his maiden Paralympic Games and finished eighth in the men&#8217;s up to 49kg event after successfully lifting 150kg in his opening attempt.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"24\"\/>Over the last two seasons, Paramjeet has continued to strengthen his credentials by winning medals at the Asia-Oceania Championships, setting national records and maintaining a place among the world&#8217;s leading lifters in the 49kg division. His silver medal with a 177kg lift at the Asia-Oceania Open Championships further underlined his consistency at the highest level.<span class=\"id-r-component br\" data-pos=\"28\"\/>As he prepares for his Commonwealth Games debut, Paramjeet carries the weight of expectation as India&#8217;s most decorated para powerlifter.
