To defeat the phenomenon known as Ronnie Coleman and win four Mr. Olympia titles, it took more than just brutal workouts. It meant eating up to seven massive meals a day and maintaining a weight of around 122 kilograms. Today, however, everything is different.<\/p>\n<p>At 52, Jay Cutler openly admits that his goals have changed\u2014and so has his legendary discipline at the table. In a recent video from the <i>JayWalking<\/i> series on YouTube, he opened up about why he no longer feels the need to eat at all costs and how he approaches his body today.<\/p>\n<h2>The End of Forced Feeding<\/h2>\n<p>When fans see Cutler today, they often still associate him with his professional regimen. But he sets the record straight.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><small><strong>\u201cWhen you talk about how disciplined I used to be\u2014people see the Jay Cutler of today. I\u2019m no longer a professional bodybuilder. I still talk about my routine, but I\u2019m nowhere near what I used to be. We were just talking about how to get five or six meals a day down. Today, I struggle with that. It\u2019s incredibly hard,\u201d<\/strong> Cutler revealed.<\/small><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#13;\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The key difference is that Cutler now eats mainly when he\u2019s hungry, rather than following a strict schedule and meal plans. <i>\u201cWhy should I force myself to eat when I really don\u2019t have to anymore? I\u2019m not training at the same intensity as I used to,\u201d<\/i> he adds.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Jay Cutler\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kulturistika.com\/file\/27354c995d94f8e80e6b2f8e0d538992\/17529129\/Jay Cutler.jpg\" style=\"width: 80%; height: 80%;\"\/><\/p>\n<h2>Diet Based on Current Energy Expenditure<\/h2>\n<p>Jay\u2019s current calorie intake depends primarily on his daily activity level. Although he tries to eat naturally and healthily, he doesn\u2019t worry if he eats less on a rest day.<\/p>\n<p>Although Cutler continues to stay in fantastic shape and trains practically seven days a week, he\u2019s learning to listen to his body more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><small><cite class=\"blockquote\"><i>\u201cI still train pretty consistently, but this week, for example, I took a day or two off, which is pretty rare for me. I just listened to my body\u2014I was tired.\u201d<\/i><\/cite><\/small><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>But some things never change<\/h2>\n<p>Even though his diet has undergone a huge transformation, some training habits have remained the same. For example, Jay is still loyal to his favorite exercise for pumping up his quadriceps\u2014 <b>front kicks<\/b>. As he recently explained, this exercise is an absolute staple for him when warming up his legs before moving on to heavier, more complex exercises.<\/p>\n<h2>A Lesson for Us All<\/h2>\n<p>Jay Cutler is a testament to exceptional athletic longevity. His current approach demonstrates the maturity of a champion who understands that sustainability and health are more important than extreme muscle size at a certain age.
